Jair Bolsonaro taken into custody after being considered a flight risk

The former Brazilian leader has been detained after authorities concluded he posed a serious risk of fleeing while under domestic detention.

The ex-president was sentenced of orchestrating a government overthrow in the ninth month and sentenced more than over two decades in prison, but he continued under home detention pending legal challenges.

Brazilian Supreme Court Justice the presiding justice said the action to imprison the elderly politician was a safety action after fresh information came to light.
