Messages Uncover the late financier and former Trump strategist Connection

In late 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly Donald Trump's chief strategist, visited the UK to deliver a speech at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The event was disrupted by hundreds of demonstrators, and Bannon, who was due to board a flight that evening, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Protesters delayed my talk don't think I can catch the plane we are heading to heathrow".

Epstein responded: "That. Is a Gulf Air that leaves at 950 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "U r an amazing helper".

These exchanges were released on this week alongside over 20,000 pages from the records of Epstein, the deceased financier convicted of sex crimes.

The release by the Congressional committee contains an text conversation where Bannon's identity is withheld. The BBC has been able to establish his involvement by matching the timeline, events, and places referenced.

For example, Epstein talks about arranging a jet from the UK for the unnamed individual in the messages, and offers praise their "Oxford speech". Bannon took part in the News Xchange conference on November 14, and gave the talk at the Oxford Union on November 16.

Bannon, who is not accused of any misconduct, declined to comment on the inquiry.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon served as the president's key advisers in the run up to the presidential election and during the initial phase of his first administration, but resigned from the White House in 2017.

He has admitted he was making a documentary about Epstein before his passing and allegedly has around 15 hours of recordings. In a live taping of his show recently, he said: "We plan to release the film, the five-part series, in the coming year - at the start of next year."

But the recently disclosed documents suggest Bannon's connection with Epstein went further than documenting his life, with the disgraced financier occasionally seeming to act like a personal assistant.

A few days before the exchange in which Epstein seemed to arranged a private plane for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "how does it feel to have the highest-paid booking agent in the world ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "You are pretty good assistant", to which Epstein responded "Massages. Not Included".

Discussing a visit to "Abu Dhabi" in a separate text, Epstein told Bannon: "I'll make sure you're taken care of."

UK Politics Mentioned in Messages

The released communications also reveal Bannon and Epstein talking about British political matters in 2018.

On the day of his speech at the Oxford Union, Bannon texted Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the Brexit thing this morning with Farage, Boris and Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a allusion to the UK prime minister, the embattled UK prime minister at the period, he continued: "The guys are trying to move on. May soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "I think remaining as long as you can uk. Ideal- so others get the dedication of your follow-up."

Soon after, Epstein inquired: "Can Theresa May remain in power". Bannon replied: "I don't see how however the people here have little courage" and added "Boris ; Gove; Rees Mogg; David Davis - someone has to step up".

Theresa May was eventually removed in May 2019 after surviving two votes of lack of support in late 2018.

A spokesman for Reform UK told media: "Farage has not been in a gathering with Steve Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest such a meeting occurred.

The US House of Representatives will vote soon on whether the Department of Justice should make public all its files concerning its investigation into Epstein, who died in jail in that year.

Interest in Epstein's associations with influential individuals was reignited this week after the publication of over 20,000 pages from his estate.

Some of those mentioned the former president, who has repeatedly rejected any impropriety. The leader was a friend of Epstein's for a long time, but says they fell out in the 2000s, two years before Epstein was first arrested.
